About Bernadette Wright, PhD

Bernadette Wright is a social researcher and program evaluator who helps nonprofit organizations to use research to make a bigger difference. She's spent the last two decades conducting and managing research for leading nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and universities.


Bernadette Wright has landed a contract to write a textbook, titled Practical Mapping for Applied Research and Program Evaluation. Her published work has appeared in Journal of MultiDisciplinary Evaluation, Stanford Social Innovation Review, and other prestigious publications. She has taught workshops and webinars with organizations such as Foundation Center DC, American Evaluation Association, and Grant Professionals Association.


Bernadette earned her PhD in public policy/program evaluation from the University of Maryland. She resides in Northern Virginia and spends her weekends hiking in the Shenandoah mountains and training for all-day hiking events.
